The Orlando Museum of Art awards a Prize For Contemporary Art. This year several rooms of the museum were devoted to large installations and smaller pieces created by International and local Florida talent. The pictured floor to ceiling installation was created by Sheila Goloborotko. The Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) announced that Yanira Collado was the winner of the prestigious $20,000 Florida Prize in Contemporary Art for 2024.

“The Florida Prize in Contemporary Art underscores the commitment of OMA to the art of our time, and to supporting artists who live and work in our State,” added the OMA website. So teachers on summer vacation, now is your time to catch up on some inspiring art by some original new artistic voices.
